Hi everyone,

Apologies for cross-posting. My term as co-convenor for CHLA's Knowledge Synthesis Interest Group is coming to a close at the end of August, and this email acts as the official call for those who are interested in taking on the role to put their name forward. I know what you're thinking...

?Q: Is it a lot of work?

?A: The two co-convenors currently organize occasional meetings to plan upcoming activities, coordinate an online journal club/webinar session roughly every couple of months, and report to the CHLA/ABSC board on group activities. It's more than zero work, but it's certainly manageable.

?Q: How long is the term?

?A: Each co-convenor serves a 2 year term with a 1 year overlap to support continuity. The first year in your term you would be working with Robin Parker, who is co-convenor until summer 2021.

?
Q: Do I have to be a member of the Canadian Health Libraries Association to be co-convenor?

?A: The co-convenor must be a CHLA member in good standing, either through a personal membership or institutional membership.

?Q: I have ideas about what direction the group should take and the activities it should offer. Is this my chance to make that vision a reality?

?A: You bet it is, though any KSIG member who wants to take the lead on a particular project is always encouraged to do so.

If you are interested in taking on the role of co-convenor for KSIG, please contact Robin Parker (Robin.Parker at dal.ca<mailto:Robin.Parker at dal.ca>) or Lydia Thorne (Lydia.Thorne at dc-ot.ca<mailto:Lydia.Thorne at dc-ot.ca>)? off list on or before Friday, August 14 2020 with your name, a short bio (1-2 lines max), and a brief statement (4-5 lines max) of why you're interested in being a convenor for KSIG.

Please Note: In the event that there is more than one person interested in taking on this role, we will hold an election by KSIG member vote in mid August.
?
We look forward to hearing from you.

Lydia Thorne & Robin Parker

On behalf of the Knowledge Synthesis Interest Group?
