[CANMEDLIB] medRxiv instructions to export records

Hi,

Hope you are all safe and well. Thank you for sharing these steps for exporting preprint records.

Thought I'd share a similar set of steps for exporting the collection of COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 preprints from medRxiv and bioRxiv - http://connect.medrxiv.org/relate/content/181

I tried to figure out a way to export all the articles in this collection via the RSS feed - I had to use Zotero to add feed, then select all the articles that appear in this, export library as RIS file and import into EndNote. (Then I searched EndNote for relevant articles for reviewing).

This was the quickest way I could think of saving all the references from this preprint collection in bulk - otherwise they'd need to export each one individually directly into EndNote.

Thanks for sharing.  Here's another way to accomplish this that I used with a rapid review team I'm working with:

  1.  Download Zotero<https://www.zotero.org/download/> application and browser extension for Chrome. If it's your first time using Zotero, you'll also need to set up an account on the Zotero website.  (Application, browser extension and account are all free.)  Make sure the Zotero program is open when you complete the remaining steps.
  2.  Run search in MedrXiv.
  3.  On the results page for each search, change the Items/Page setting to 75. Click the Zotero browser plugin, click the Select all results option, then click ok.  Be sure to repeat this process for all pages of search results.
  4.  Once you've exported all the results from all searches to Zotero, go to the Zotero program.  Click File, then Export Library.  From the Format dropdown menu, select RIS.
  5.  Import RIS file into Covidence, Rayyan or other screening venue of choice.

Re exporting from medrxiv and importing into Rayyan, please find my steps below (not very sophisticated, but it worked!):

1. Accessed the "COVID-19 SARS-CoV-2 preprints from medRxiv and bioRxiv" page, if you scrolled to the bottom, in the left corner there are links to "Collection RSS" or "JSON"
2. Click on JSON and a new tab with simple text will pop open, this is the whole archive in simple text.
3. Select all and copy all of the text.
4. Open an online JSON to CSV/excel converter (I used this one: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.convertcsv.com_json-2Dto-2Dcsv.htm&d=DwICAg&c=shNJtf5dKgNcPZ6Yh64b-A&r=rjUBvtGxtgQ1p_hssCnBbq95pBHNNB-W_uH3-XYwiiM&m=9Bs_n6yq_g2LPQ5r1bVzYktjbpb4vetbbOJzci62yNA&s=NIKMdMgco4FDd7CptbYmpQfIM31x3_EyVjoQ2a8E1D8&e= ) - it takes a while to convert into excel or csv
5. Download the csv/excel
6.
